Macbook Pro (late 2007) - want to upgrade to snow leopard

I have a macbook pro (late 2007 model) running tiger. I want to upgrade to snow leopard but keep hearing mixed things about it.
I have 2 major questions that i would appreciate if someone could answer
1- if i were to upgrade to snow leopard, will Final Cut Pro 5.0 (which is what i have now) still work??
2- My macbook pro has 2.16 GHz intel core 2 due with 1gb RAM, can i add expandable memory(ram) to this computer?

From reading the Apple website, you'll have to get Final Cut Pro 7 to run on Snow Leopard.
Also I believe your Rev C MBP can accept up to 3 GB (1x 2 GB and 1x 1 GB) of RAM.
If Tiger and FCP 5 is working out well for you, why upgrade?MBP 11,3 | Logic Pro X | Ableton Live 9 | Traktor Pro 2 | AKAI MPC2000XL, X7000, MPK-49 | Roland MV-8000, SP-808, TR-707, TR-808 & TR-909 | Ensoniq ASR-10 | x0xb0x #911 & Willzyx | Denon DN-MC6000 | (3) Technics SL-1200MK1 | 4000+ vinyl records

You could always run final cut 5 on Rosetta.
