I have a couple questions:

1. How do I change the icons for folders/programs/etc.? What size should the new icons be?
2. I know you can apply different folder backgrounds and things. If I e-mail the folder to someone, will they see the same background? ie. is the image embeded into the folder? If it is not, is it possible to do this?
3. I really dislike the startup sound with OS X Panther, I'd like to change it to like the "roar" of a big cat or something. Is this possible?

Thanks!

  1. Get Candybar
  2. Yes, if they're on a mac and you've added a background to a folder, they should see it.
  3. Not sure offhand on this. I'm sure there's a hack for at least silencing it, but I've never heard of changing it.

3. No you can't. You can only mute it, but not change it, as it is in the firmware...and I would not risk to mod the firmware, because dead firmware means dead Mac.

Ok, I've figured out how to change the icons, and i've given up on changing the startup sound, it would be pretty awesome to change, but I'm not going to risk screwing up my PB to do it.

What do you suggest as a good size to make the icons I have before I put them on the folders or whatever? Does it matter that much? Any particular resolution?

Thanks!

If you pay me, I'll sit next to your computer and roar, when you turn it on.
