Mobile Me Sync asking for Member Name & Password

Mobile me keeps asking me to verify my password and member name. However, I did not renew my mobile me account when it expired. In the mobile me sync preferences, I have removed my old Mobile Me and password. But I keep getting prompted for the two. I don't know how to make it stop and it's annoying. Any ideas?

In MobileMe in your system prefs does it say your logged out? If not, log out there.
