i have recently bought an old g3 and want to know if my panther thati got with my imac would work on there.

OS X runs fine on 2 g3 powerbooks I have. One is a 333 Hz and the other is a 500 Mhz pismo. Both have 512 meg of ram. I use them as iTune servers and 10.3.9 is running great. :miner:

You don't mention which G3 you have but most models will run Panther without problems if you have enough RAM. The other issue is that OS X install disks that are produced for a specific model, as yours is for an iMac, usually do not work for other models.

I am running panther on my ibook g3 800. I plan to order tiger on friday when I get paid. Panther runs so well, I am sure there won't be a problem with tiger. Apple is very good about not increasing the minimum requirements for an os too much.

ok i have the same g3 power mac one of the older ones that do not come with a usb port- iv heard theres a way to put panther on it...how?
