i have just bought a new macbook which came with leopard back up disks can i use these to upload leopard onto my tiger OS system on my mac desktop that i have at home

Mac Specs: 2008 and 2011 15" mbps, late 11 iMac, iPhone 4s, and too many ipods and other stuff

No. They're device specific. You would need to buy a full retail disk.
