Can you defrag an Apple laptop? How do you do it?

    Thanks, Justin

    Imac 27", i7 3.5GHz, 3TB Fusion drive, 32GB memory, macOS Sierra.
Ample free hard drive space is the answer. Keep at least 20% free and no need to defrag.

Yes, you can defrag (optimize) your disk if you want. TechTool Pro does that, among many other things. It won't hurt it, but it might not help much either.
