hello,
I am running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I have file sharing set up between my Vista pc and both my Macs, but on my 24' iMac (OS 10.6) I am unable to drop files from the Vista machine to the Mac. I can drop files from Mac to Vista though. I can also drag files from the Mac to my Vista pc.... When I try to drop files from Vista to iMac I get a "you dont not have permission to perform this action" message. thoughts???? |

The Windows PC need to know the username and password of the Mac user sharing it's files.
This is for 10.5 but 10.6 is the same: Mac OS X 10.5 Help: Setting up a Mac computer to share files with Windows users Here's a good 3rd party article that has a pretty good, step-by-step guide: How to Share Files between Mac and PC — Leopard and Vista | Train Signal Training - Free Computer Training Videos HTH mrplow External hard disk acquisition addict - but admitting the problem is the first step to a robust backup Please use the reputation system if you think you've been helped - top right of this post |
