OS 10.6 - snow leopard upgrade iDVD problems

Hello all
New to this but i just upgraded my mac pro to snow leopard and now i cannot access iDVD because it is too old a version. Can someone explain what this new leopard has and does different and will it effect me using other programs on my mac? How do i upgrade iDVD? Thanks Daithi
