hey guys

I got a B&W G3 , + 256MB Of RAM...(I am using 1ghz of g3 processor..yes i bought the stupid upgrade card) with OSX 10.3.8 , OS 9.2.2

i am mainly a classic user. so each time i start classic...it shows the usual happy mac face logo..then it shows "x" (the dead mac face logo)..but OSX Boots fine..it happens if i boot OS 9/or in classic mode (in classic it shows the beachball logo thingy and it "hangs")

what is the problem..this is the only mac..that can get classic to work..fyi , i don't have os 9.2.2 cd..as i only have 8.6 , which came with the mac... :headphone

if you have 10.3 disk, the classic is inside, right?
instal 10.3 with classic. when you see that you have folder on HDD, named "system folder" with 9 on it, go to system prefs and change startup disk to classic, restart.

Only system restore disks have Classic included on them, and then it will only install it if you are using the restore disk on the comuter the disk was made for. The retail version of 10.3 does not have Classic included. You would need to first install 9.2, and then 10.3 over top of it.
Have you tried rebuilding the desktop for Classic? It may help a bit if you do. Outside of that, you will need to reinstall OS 9.2. If you don't have it, you can usually find an inexpensive copy of it on eBay.
If you do get your hands on a copy of 9.2, you may want to consider installing it on a separate partition from OS X. You will still be able to boot into Classic under OS X this way, plus it will be easier to repair or reinstall in the future if you should ever need to.
