I am soon going to purchase a Mac Book Pro. Can any suggest a reference book(s)? OS books? Tips and Tricks? Where to find good to have apps, programs, widgets, odds and ends of software that make using a Mac Book Pro better, easier, faster?

Thanks for any replies.

One book that I would recommend is Mac OS X Snow Leopard: The Missing Manual. It doesn’t look like it’s released yet, but I have the Leopard version, and it shows how to do just about all the basics that you’ll need as well as some handy tips and tricks. I’d recommend it, especially if you are new to the Mac platform (or computers in general).

I'll second that one. It captures just about everything you'll need to know.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
