I have my top right corner set as the hotcorner for a screensaver, and when I move the mouse to there, the screensaver starts. In like... 10 seconds though, the screensaver stops and brings me back to the desktop.

Any explanations?

If you move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard, then the screen saver goes away. I don't have that problem (also have the top right corner for screen saver).

What screen saver do you use? Maybe it's the screensaver.

Yeah, I am not touching anything once the screen saver starts. I just step back a bit and let it do its thing. I'm using a default apple screen saver, but I'm away from my mac, and am I'm not sure exactly what it's called... I think it's the first one though. Should be just a bunch of multi-color dots that appear and fade out on screen.

I can post the name of the screen saver when I return to my beloved MacBook.

The same thing is happening to me with one of the default screensavers (Flurry). When I activate the screensaver by going to the hotspot, it comes on, i don't touch the keyboard or mouse and 10 seconds later it prompts for my password as if i moved the mouse/touched the keyboard. It does this every time...quite annoying

I've figured out why it was not working for me. I use an app called Caffeine by Lighthead. It prevents the Mac from going to sleep, or starting the screensaver. I just needed to update it. Version 1.1 fixed a bug that would cause the screensaver to turn off, even if it was started manually. So i've got it figured out!
