How can I prevent a new Finder window from opening whenever I insert a USB pen drive?

This is highly annoying.

Thanks in advance.

Try changing the Finder sidebar preferences. If you have them set to show attached drives, cds etc then finder will have to open. Just don't forget to eject the Pen drive before removing it.
