Hi,

I made a mistake using the application UNO w/ reading the instructions carefully. I changed the iTunes look and now my iTunes 8 crashes after starting and looks terrible. Uninstalling UNO did not help and using guifix changed nothing at all.
I think, I have to re-install iTunes. But what about my library?
Is it possible to re-install iTunes and get all fixed?
Is it possible to change the appearance settings by hand?
I have no usable backup medium for my large library. I just can copy it onto my harddisk.
Any help and tipps are wellcome. Thanks for your help.

Holger

You should really read specifications for apps before you install them. UNO has not been upgraded since iTunes 7.3 I think and has never been upgraded to run in Leopard.

How did you uninstall it? If you just dragged the app to the trash, you need to re-install it and then use it's uninstaller to remove it.

Hi bobtomay.
You are right. It was a silly mistake. I read the specification after the installation ***rookie***. Unbelievable that I work several years with unix systems
I took the installer to remove UNO and after malfunction I called guifix in single user mode. If there is no way to reset the iTunes settings, I will try a new install.

Check for left over files/folders in MacIntosh HD / Library / Application Support

Check the same location in your user folder also.

Just remove anything with UNO you find - may need to log out and back in.

Ok, I solved it. I deinstalled iTunes by dragging iTunes to Trash, killed the ITunes Helper and restarted my Mac. After the restart I installed iTunes again and everything is fine.

Thanks for your mental support

Glad that worked. I was kind of worried UNO may have put something in the system folder that would continue affecting even a new install.
