i have a mac, not for gaming, but i was wondering if there is a way to get voice activation to log on? like i say "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" and then it logs in and if i log off i want it to say "Mischief managed". How do i get that to happen?
( got the idea from MLIA )

The old Mac OS8 & OS9 had that capability but I have no idea if you can do it in OSX. It was pretty cool, until you got a cold and your computer didn't recognize your voice...

NOTE: Thread moved to appropriate forum. Not just anything goes in Anything Goes

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

That's actually kind of really cool. Now that I think of it I actually remember hearing about something like that when I was back in school and we had the old tube imacs. I never found out exactly what it did or how it worked, all I remember is someone telling me that you could talk to the computer and it would complete the command. I haven't heard of anything like that on OS X either though.

I think OSX will still do voice commands, it's in the Accessibility Prefs Pane. I just don't think it will do the voice log on thing.

Yeah I was thinking the same. I know you can have read outs of certain text and issue some commands, but I can't say I've played around with it enough to figured out exactly how it works or if the voice login does in fact work.

I was able to find a cool "how to" on the voice command feature here, but nothing with the login feature unfortunately.

Hope that helps, Briere.
