As a new Mac user, I often find myself looking for Windows features on Mac. One of the features that I miss, and am sure must exists is the ability to cutomize information in finder.

An example is information that can be sortable by column.

If viewing a folder with MP3 files for instance, I would like to be able to see information such as Bit Rate, Bit Depth etc. Similar information for photo files. I would like to be able to sort the files by such information.

Is this feature available? If so, where?

Welcome to the forums!

While you wont' see these columns in the Finder window, Spotlight can search for items based on the file meta-data. While not exactly the same, it does provide a wealth of options for searching, bit rate being one of the search options. A quick doc for hints on Spotlight can be found here:
