As a new Mac user, I often find myself looking for Windows features on Mac. One of the features that I miss, and am sure must exists is the ability to cutomize information in finder.
An example is information that can be sortable by column. If viewing a folder with MP3 files for instance, I would like to be able to see information such as Bit Rate, Bit Depth etc. Similar information for photo files. I would like to be able to sort the files by such information. Is this feature available? If so, where? Thank you |

Welcome to the forums!
While you wont' see these columns in the Finder window, Spotlight can search for items based on the file meta-data. While not exactly the same, it does provide a wealth of options for searching, bit rate being one of the search options. A quick doc for hints on Spotlight can be found here: http://www.macosxhints.com/dlfiles/spotlight_cmds.pdf Also, you may want to check out this thread it basically has your question along with quite a few responses, some appearing more useful than others.
