I was wondering if iWork (with Pages and Keynote) could run on MacOS Puma (10.1). I am going to get it running on an iMac G3 later today and wanted to know if I could install and run Pages in particular, as it is one of my favorite programs.

My understanding is that Puma had a number of issues - seems it might make life easier for you to at least progress to Panther as i think iWork 06 will work on that.

Oh snap. I wasn't intending to update to Panther as I have just 333mhz of processor power and 96mb of RAM to work with. Thanks for the advice.

iWork '09 requires 10.4.11 or 10.5.6

'08 requires some version of 10.4

'06 requires 10.3.9 or 10.4.3

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Hmm. Even iWork '05 requires:

Mac OS X v10.3.6 or later
500 MHz or faster PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 (G4 for PowerBook); G4 or G5 recommended
128 MB of RAM (512 MB recommended)

AppleWorks 6.2.9 will be about it. Here are the specs:-

Apple - AppleWorks - Technical Specifications

Hard to find earlier versions of Open Office. Open Office 2.0 web sites state 'superseded'.
