Hi all,

Every day at work I use 2 mounted network disks. I have 2 alias files on my desktop. Every day I copy these into "Devices" in the finder window as I access these constantly. Is there anyway to get a mounted disk or alias to permanently display in the finder window either under "Devices" or "Places" or anywhere else?

Thanks.

It was about time I switched... and I am so glad I did.

In Finder>Preferences>Sidebar click on External Disks to have the Network icons show on the desktop.

Unfortunately this makes no difference to Network drives as they are not seen as External Hard Drives.

I searched on google for "mac os x permanently show mounted drives in finder" and loads of people are having this issue

Finder Preferences - Sidebar tab under the Shared section - check off Connected Servers and Bonjour Computers

I have never done anything but this on my Mac and all of my Win computers show up in Finder.
Both of my Macs also have to go through 2 routers to get to them.

edit: I did make sure the OS X firewall was not set to 'Allow only essential services'.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
