Hi guys,

The wifes macbook (2.0ghz, 2gb RAM maxed) keeps getting the beachball of death!
it seems to be whenever she uses finder to open a program or file.
once the prog is running (eg firefox or safari) its fine.

I tried looking at her system prefs but the icon has a 'No Entry' sign embossed over the top.

went through repairing permissions and erasing free space to try and speed it up (80GB HDD with 25gb free) to no avail.

The only things she uses it for are
Firefox- facebook, online banking and 'bigfish games'
playing games purchased and downloaded from said games site.
she sometimes goes on the youtube type sites watching funny clips etc but that is about the limit for her.

Any thoughts (before one of us lobs it through a window!)???
QUOTE Thanks

Start with this guide and let us know how you make out.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
