I downloaded some updates on Sunday including Safari 4 and the Bluetooth firmware and since then I cannot put the computer to sleep, it comes straight back on again. I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard but have unchecked the box marked allow bt devices to wake from sleep and I've repaired permissions. Any ideas please.

I also am having some issues with my MBP sleeping too.

Fully updated, but it's happening more often.

To the OP:

It's possible the SMC on your machine went out of whack when you installed the updates, or, it may be a coincidence. In any event, try resetting the System Management Controller on your machine. See the following Apple KB article: Link

Regards.
