I have an old iBook that I want to upgrade for my daughter. Do I need to install Panther before Tiger? Will Tiger function okay with what I have.

Current system:
Version 10.2.8
Memory: 256 MB
Processor 800 MHz PowerPC G3

No, you don't need to install Panther first. Tiger should run great, but I'd upgrade the RAM if I were you, since 256MB is the minimum required for it.

There is no system but GNU and Linux is one of its kernels.
