I might me missing something but how do you format a drive in 10.4.11?

With Disk Utility found in the Utilities folder - go to the Partition tab

Thank you Bob, I thought Mac might have another way to do it. Every time I opened it up the program was hanging.. I zapped the PRAM and it works now.
