I've restored my I book to factory settings but I am constantly forced to restard the machine. The screen turns grey and I see in a black box the quadralingual writing 'you must restart and shutdown the computer'

Ive done a hardware check and every thing seems to be fine.

Before I throw the computer out the window is there anything else anyone can suggest to cure the problem here.

Thanks
Aaron

Seems like a kernal panic - are you really using 10.1 Try getting the iBook onto Panther 10.3 at least as it is a much more stable OS

Not sure if it works on the early iBooks but try resetting the PRAM here
