Enlarging print

Mac Specs: iMac 21" 2.4G 320G HD OS Snow Leopard. Win7 on Dell PC Inspiron i5 8g Ram 1TB HD

When I enlarge the print using command and plus,why doesn't the print stay at the enlarged size,it changes back to size it was prior to enlarging. Got any suggestions? Van
