OS 10.5 - weird....

i open finder and the usual pops up.... the devices, shared and places categories, each with subcategories.....when i open the HD icon directly, I don't get that, just started happening lately..???

i attached a picture of what it looks like.. /????

any ideas...

Click the little white button top right of the window.
It takes off the side bar and the tool bar & puts them back
