I forget exactly which item it is, not at my Mac ... but it's in that 'Open International' settings.I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

The easiest way to remove any unwanted menu bar item (or to rearrange the ones you have) is to hold down command and drag it out of the menu bar (or to a new position, depending on what you want to do).
You can also go to "Open International..." and tell it to not display the input menu. Normally, the input menu is used to quickly change keyboard layouts in case you need to have multiple ones available. You probably don't need that, though, so you can remove it.

System Preferences > International > Input Menu > "Show input menu in menu bar"
