OS 10.4 - Even weirder attachment problem

Hi - I'm a newbie.

I have almost the exact opposite problem to other posters.

Almost whenever I send an attachment using the Mail programme, the attachment appears ok to the recipient - but the body of the email ALSO appears as an attachment.

Oh, and so does the signature.

Hrrrmph!!

Any ideas - I'm feeling very blonde...
