i have a problem...

i bought a MacBook Pro from a friend who made a mess with it it doesnt boot at all because he erased the partition. When i turn it on u hear the startup sound but no boot... the only thing that comes on the screen is a lil folder with a "?" on it.

Itried booting from another mac with a fire wire but nothing happenned...
i tried with the MacOS X CD(brand new) to boot it but nothing happened even when holding down the "C" key to force it to boot from CD.

Is this an OS X 10.5 (Leopard) disc? If so, did you try holding down the Option key immediately after turning the machine on?

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Sounds like there's an EFI password on it. Check with the friend who sold it to you.
