mac and bandwidth

ever since i connected my apple to the LAN i have been using 600-1gb of bandwidth per day without downloading anything, what is causing this and how can i stop it? i only have 6gb of bandwidth and i cant afford for this to keep happening??

get a software called "Little Snitch" and it'll help u find out whats using ur traffic.
