OS 10.5 - Normal Windows software such as adobe photoshop......

.....i have just baught a mac, will programs like filezilla smart ftp, and adobe programs run on here the same? or do i have to download mac editions etc?

Windows software will not work in OS X, and vice versa.

You need to buy OS X versions of your software, or install Windows on your Mac. Google Bootcamp and Parallels.

If you already own a PC version of PhotoShop - Adobe will let you cross grade

You will still need to pay the upgrade cost, and you will need to conduct the purchase via telephone by calling Adobe Sales at 1-800-833-6687 (see Adobe.com for international numbers). The Letter of Software Destruction may be faxed, e-mailed, or snail-mailed to Adobe.
