How can I change the default program associated with file extension?

Hi,

How can I change the default program associated with file extension?
For example, now when I double-click .java file, xcode will be used to open it.
How can i change that to aquamacs?

Thank you.

Right click the app>Get info>go to "Open With" Tab> change to aquamacs then select change all

Another way:

RCDefaultApp is a Control Panel pane that allows you to make global changes to file types. Very handy - and you can't beat the price.

Right click the file not the app. Get info > change Open with > and Change all.

That solved it for me torchy, many thanks. was about to download rcdefault app and try it with that (i don't like using external programs for simple OS tasks). Great stuff.
