Hi,

I have an external hard disk (with an usb connector) which is formatted using Linux ext3 file system. Can you please tell me if it is possible to read files from that drive? If yes, how can I do that?

Thank you.

You can't with OS X. However, if you dual boot your Mac with Windows, you can install the free Windows ext2/3 IFS driver and read - write to the drive.

Regards.

Thanks. I did not have dual boot with Windows. But I have Parallels Desktop setup (running Windows XP). So it is possible to read files from the external drive (format for linux)

Thank you.

you can use the disk if you browse it over a network through the Samba protocol .... not much help huh?

ext2 is simple with "ext2progs" btw

My external hard drive only has an USB interface. It is not networked.

Thanks for the idea.
