Hello,

I have an iBook G4 running 10.4, and we just got a new 20" Intel Mac (10.5). It seems like Migration Assistant is the best way to move our files. Ideally we'd like to move everything from the old computer (.docs, Mail, iTunes, etc.) to the new one (via FireWire) so we can hit the ground running, but I don't know if I should move my apps as well. I've read there might be issues with Power PC apps running on the Intels. The only software I have that didn't come with the iBook is Office 2004, BitTorrent, and Celtx. It'd be great to be able to move these over, but not if they'll interfere with the new computer's performance. Also, the new version of iLife in the new computer won't get replaced by the old one, right? Are there any other apps or files that people wouldn't recommend to transfer?

Thanks!

Mario

Move any apps you dont want out of the apps folder on the G4, just to be sure

Office will run fine on the new mac, OK it will not be running native but should still be at least as fast, if not faster when run on the intel mac
