My mac pro came with os x 10.4 and I have used this for some time now. Cautiously I decided to upgrade my operating system by buying a new hard drive and installing 10.5 on that one.
I now have 2 hard drives in my mac pro one is os x 10.4 and one is 10.5 The problem I have is that when i go to transfer files between each hard drive all the icons appear to be locked and they tell me that access is restricted! I cannot access any work files contained on the desktop. I have checked the permissions on both hard drives when doing "apple I" on the hard drive and all the setting tell me that read and right are switched on. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can remove the problem of permissions on both hard drives? I know this can be done as my colleague has the same setup and it works on his machine. However I cannot spot the difference between his mac and mine! Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. |
