Ok I have just done a fresh install on my mac and I am erasing the free disc space ( I heard that this makes it quicker) but it says :
Capacity : 186.0 GB
Available : 168.1 GB

Why is this if it is a fresh install. I thought there should be all the hard drive left no?

Sorry if its a stupid question.
QUOTE Thanks

The Operating System and accompanying applications as well as the VM swap file will take up a good bit of space even on a fresh install (which BTW, usually isn't necessary on a UNIX-based OS).

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
