iMac - extra files showing in apps folder

any idea how to change this? Is it a show/hide hidden files or something?

BEFORE IT ONLY SHOWED THE app icon. not the app.adu file

A search for the file extension .ADU led me to this link - File extension ADU
Could that be associated with your problem?
