i have a late 2007 macbook(tiger) i chose not to upgrade yet for budget purposes lol

i was getting tired of all the clutter and i decided to do an erase. i get the flashing folder icon with a question mark in it now when i boot

i stupidly forgot to backup my itunes purchases so i think im pretty much screwed there.

i cant find my os x install discs(tiger) so now my laptop is useless

any help whatsoever is very much appreciated.. -_-

You may be able to beg Apple's iTunes support to let you re-download your purchases. Check the iTunes support stie.

You might want to try Data Rescue II or FileSalvage. Both have given me a modicum of success when the other couldn't recover files.
