In this thread - desktop image customization - the solution given is to Centre pictures on desktop. I have tried all options listed and still my photos are not displayed as is. They are stretched, zoomed into, etc. I would like the whole photo displayed exactly as I took them! Is this possible?

What is your desktop resolution, and what is the resolution of the pictures you want to use?

Please verify and include the exact model/year of your Mac and OS X version number (available from "About This Mac", then "More Info" on the Apple menu).

Desktop resolution is 1680x1050, pictures are 2048x1536 and some are higher. That makes sense to me, thanks! I need to resize all the images but it would be nice if there was a 'fit to screen' option!
