Greetings,
I tried searching for this, but the results never came up. I've got a PowerPC Dual 1.8 GHz G5 with 1 GB of RAM. I am curious if I can upgrade to Leopard, what would be the benefits and would there be any "cons" to it with my system. For some reason I thought Leopard was more so for the Intel based machines, but a bird told me otherwise. I plan on purchasing more RAM for my machine, either going up to 4-8 GB depending on how many slots I have. Looking forward to some of that sweet sweet knowledge that flows around these forums. Peace, P_F "I only act like I don't give a make love." "Dreams don't kill people, dreamers do." "Without love we perish." |

The minimum requirement for leopard is an 867mhz G4, so your dual 1.8ghz G5 will have no problem at all running it. 1GB of RAM is also fine, but more memory will make for a smoother experience when running several applications. Go for 2 or 4GBs if possible.
Personally I think Leopard is better looking, slightly faster and has some neat features. Plus you get the latest software gizmos. Well worth the upgrade at this point. |

I will be running Leopard soon, well hopefully. As well as a RAM upgrade. Much appreciated. Respect, P_F "I only act like I don't give a make love." "Dreams don't kill people, dreamers do." "Without love we perish." |
