wont start up properly and folder and question mark image?
My macbook was fine earlier, till it froze. Force quit did not work, so i shut it down via the power off button.

I turned it on later to find it would not turn on properly, it stays on the white start up screen , the apple logo does not appear.
After waiting 10 mins a folder with a question mark sign appears on the white screen. The mouse does not appear, so i cant click on it.
I dont know what to do!!!

Start up holding the option button.

Start up holding the shift button.

Start up Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM < by following these instructions.

If none of these work, you are probably in the same boat as me, which is a hard drive failure. Taking mine to Apple tomorrow.
