I love my elderly, creaking Mac but am having trouble doing a quality back-up. What is the most efficient back-up method?

Disk to disk is the easiest for quickly recovering from deleted or corrupt files. Drive to Drive cloning is the quickest to recover from a complete HD failure.

    Thumbs up Thanks
I have been using the disc to disc and going through a lot of discs! I will look into the cloning. I stopped using RW discs when one of them failed to load properly after I had written over it only once.

I would definitely consider an external hard drive of equal or greater size to that of your internal drive. This is far more cost effective than burning countless optical discs. With storage prices dropping to record lows, you could probably pick up a very nice one for under $100.
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
