I have an external firewire HD used for nightly backups using SuperDuper. This setup has been working well for some time. Recently though I am finding that the external drive is left with only 360Mb of data on it. It should have about 130Gb. What I do know is that SuperDuper is working as expected but after it competes its work something is deleting the files. I know it sounds weird but I cannot figure out what is going on. Help :-(

Sounds to me like you or something changed the backup settings in SuperDuper. If you allow SuperDuper to do a differential backup every evening it should only delete files on the external drive that have been newly copied from your Macintosh HD.

Check the backup settings and read the help file which explains exactly what SuperDuper does in its various backup modes.

Regards.
