OS 10.5 - Latest Leopard update (10.5.5) Caution
Hi Everyone:
If anyone is thinking about installing the latest Leopard update (10.5.5) I suggest making a recoverable backup before doing so. This update is somewhat troubling in that it has caused some systems to hang after the update (mine included) and may even break some applications. (I have a hurricane tracker program that it broke.)
Your update may go smoothly and not cause any problems whatsoever, but why take chances? Backup, backup, backup.
BTW, I was able to recover because I made a backup prior to updating. I'm running 10.5.4 once more.

Purchase an external firewire drive case and put an IDE drive in and use SuperDuper to do weekly back ups. Or perhaps an SATA drive if that is what your machine is fitted with. Just format the drive first and then back up.
