OS 10.5 - 10.5.5 update hands on configuring install

I downloaded the 10.5.5 update and it hangs when "configuring install"...

I hap to manually hit the power button to reboot. Repaired permissions and tried again and it still hangs...

Any ideas on how i can get this thing going????

It acted strange after the update was through. After it did its automatic reboot, all I got was a blue screen and a mouse cursor. I had to press the on/off button to get it to respond. After it rebooted once more everything returned to normal except the update broke my hurricane tracker program.

Before attempting to install the update again, boot your machine with your original Leopard install disk and run first aid. Verify the disk. Make sure all errors (if any) are cleared by Verify. Then reboot and run the update again.

Regards.

Downloaded and installed just fine. Be patient takes quite a time to close, and then reboots twice and does linger on blue screen but all comes up eventually.
