Is there any way to back up just leopard? I know you can back up your hard drive, but what about if I don't have the leopard disks, (or a dvd burner) can't I back up leapord onto a usb flash drive?
QUOTE Thanks

First off, if you lost the discs, I'd strongly suggest getting replacements as there is a lot more than just the OS on those discs - including utilities for diagnostics and drivers for Windows.

But if you want to just backup your current install, I'd suggest SuperDuper. It will backup your entire system partition, but it does make a carbon copy, even makes it bootable.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

So it will copy everything, but at least I will have a back up of leapord? What if my external hard drive is not firewire?

SuperDuper will work on USB but is awful slow. USB will not boot from the external drive on some models, and you have not included model info in profile. As our mod suggested look for OS X.5 full retail version DVD disc as you need this for hard drive repairs, system troubleshooting and installing. You must have had Leopard discs to do the install, or it was done illegally.
