Time Machine recommends the entire drive is dedicated to it. BUT as we all need to store files i just added a folder and put a few things there that i can afford to lose. I say that because someday every drive fails and if the only copy is on the backup drive when it fails, oh well!!
I now have multiple drives for Time Machine and every three months or so i switch drives. I lost a computer main drive many years ago and had no backup. i am now paranoid with backups and actually also backup my photos to DVD's on a periodic basis since those cannot be replaced. |
