Hello MacRumors, I have a problem on my hands. I recently puchased an iBook indigo and it came with OSX 10.0 on it. I didn't very well like it, so i got an old OS9 disc out and tried to install it. i couldn't get it to work, so i dragged the 'System' folder out of the cd onto the root of my HD. i then set it as my starup folder. Now it doesn't boot up at all it just shows a ? and a finder symbol back and forth and i can't boot from anything but an old ubuntu CD and it doesnt boot right either. Help?
QUOTE Thanks

The system folder on a CD will not usually boot off a hard drive

what folder did you copy System Folder or System

For OS 9 you will be better opff trying to find a retail (universal) copy of 9.1 or 9.2

But you really need OS X, for that mac Panther (10.3) will be fine, make sure you get a retail copy, shouldn't cost much and get that iBook a fresh and good panther install
