Using only single 19" monitor - comp thinks I'm running two. I tried rebooting, panther cache cleaner, no luck. Any suggestions? (450Mhz PPC OSX 10.3.4)

What do you mean it thinks you are using two displays?

Go to Displays and hit Detect Displays see if that helps

Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

that what I tried first - went to System Preferences too - acted like I had a second display running 1024x768. "Turn On Mirroring" is where "Detect Displays" usually is.

I switched the monitor cable to the other port and got horrible resolution and what looked like 256 color (more like two-tone) and simply removed the card and rebooted. I may have fixed a papercut with an amputation, but if anyone has an idea of why it thought another monitor was running feel free to comment
Thanks

If there where two ports, then it may well have thought that the different ports where two different monitors.
