Hi, I'm a Mac-newbie, using OS X Leopard.

I had a .gif file on my desktop, which I unknowingly dragged onto my Finder. It is now under 'Places'.

I then proceeded to delete the file from my system, which resulted in the .gif file being visible on the Finder, but unable to open.

Any possible way of deleting it? I can't even click it - when I do, this pops up: "The volume for jacobtag.gif cannot be found".
QUOTE Thanks

If it's in the sidebar on the left it's just an alias (shortcut). Drag it somewhere else and it should vanish in a puff of smoke.
