HELP!!!

I saved all my trip videos that were MOV files .mpg. They were not only on osx but also backed up through Time Machine. Now, I cannot find them. The only thing remaining is a jpg image of the first frame of the movie.

Any ideas what might have happened or where I might look for the movies? HELP!!?
