I go to the Apple website to download some screensavers for my iMac. I click on download and ALWAYS gives me this message "The application Safari quit unexpectedly after it was relaunch". I have sent the report to Apple, i've checked the error message and I've clicked on "Ignore" to see if something changes, to no avail. It happens everytime I want to download anything from the Apple website.

Could you help me?

Try going to the Safari menu and select the command to reset Safari and clear the cache, then restart Safari.
You can also delete the preference file for Safari. Home folder~/Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.Safari.plist

When all else fails, try everything!

I use both myself. Give it a try.

If Safari is still giving you problems, after reseting and deleting the preference file, try re-installing Safari.

Soulwar,

I did as you advised by clearing the cache and it did NOT work (still did the same thing - it closed and gave me the error message given before). I am not sure as to how to proceed with you following idea:"Home folder~/Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.Safari.plist" (sorry but i am a noob when it comes to iMacs).

Also, how do you uninstall and then install Safari? Is there a disk? where do i find it?

And 1 more thing, how do you uninstall Google earth from my system? For some reason, on my first day of having this computer I install it but i don't see the shortcut on the desktop (actually there is one thing that looks like a hard drive and it says "Google earth" but when i click on it, a new small window opens "Device" showing the true shortcut picture of it but when i click in it, again it gives the message about quitting the application that i showed you and the beginning of this thread)

Thank you for answering and sorry for asking so many questions!

I am at Apples site. I clicked Downloads then went to screen savers. I picked one and hit download and it worked as always.

This is Safari on Leopard? Is everything updated?

Guys I got it! I cleaned the cache as advised (many times), since nothing happened and I was about to give up, I just re-started the computer and it worked!

Now if you could tell me how to uninstall an application, I would appreciate it very much!
